Welcome
to the SouthWest CMG Regional Website
The Summer Regional
Meeting will be held August 11, 2011
at the IBM Innovation Center
13800 Diplomat Drive
Dallas, Texas 75234
This event should prove to be a
very, special one day session. At no charge
to the attendee Dr. Barry Merrill of Merrill
Consultants has kindly offered to sponsor
the event, whilst being hosted at the IBM
Innovation Centre in Dallas. To cap the day
off, we also have a tour of the IBM
Innovation Centre by IBM. During the tour we
hopefully will get to see a z196 like you
have never seen before.
This meeting is open to all IT
professionals, you do not have to be a
member of CMG to attend!

Frank Bereznay/MP Welch – Monitoring large numbers of processes for potential issues before they become problematic can be time consuming and resource intensive. A number of statistical methods have been used to identify change due to a discernable cause and separate it from the fluctuations that are part of normal activity. This session provides a case study of creating a system to track and report these types of changes. Determining the best level of data summarization, control limits, and charting options will be examined as well as all of the SAS code needed to implement the process and extend its functionality |

Bob Shimizu, Colesoft - Event Profiling vs. State Profiling in z/OS. State Profiling in z/OS is highly evolved, and has been extremely effective in the profiler marketplace for many years. These days, the newer methodology is called "Event Profiling" Instead of monitoring the address space directly; an Event Profiler gathers information constantly at the processor level, gathering FAR more information than State profilers with NO presence in the target address space, and no hooks to the operating system. |
