About the Southwest CMG

Southwest CMG is focused on providing regional members the opportunity of hearing fellow members and nationally known CMG speakers sharing practical experiences of managing IT environments. Speaker topics typically cover topics such as:

  • Performance management and capacity planning of all IT platforms
  • Systems management disciplines -
    resource usage
    service level management
    disaster recovery
    problem management
    change management
    help desk management
  • New IT directions of interest to SWCMG members
  • Experience in using different techniques to manage various IT platforms and various technology

Southwest CMG has been a zero-budget region since its inception, relying on vendor or members' organization sponsorship for funding our one day meetings.

The meeting sponsor arranges meeting rooms, catering for breakfast and coffee breaks, is allowed one vendor sales or organization presentation on our agenda.

All speakers other than the vendor sponsor must conform to the CMG International presentation policies.

Vendor literature display space is provided on a limited basis for any vendor wishing to display materials at each meeting.

Lunch is typically not included in these meetings as a cost containment measure.

Southwest CMG offers the following membership benefits:

  • No membership fees, usually no meeting fees
  • Nationally known and local member speakers
  • Vendor or member organization sponsorship of meetings
