Welcome back to NCACMG! Welcome back to NCACMG! Well, we're into our second year with the revitalized NCACMG, and we're doing well. We're getting into a decent routine with the seminars, and we've held the line on increasing the price. We manage to give a full day of quality education for only $30, and we feed you! A huge thanks to our vendor sponsors for helping us keep this seminar affordable. The Mitre Corporation continues to graciously provide a top-notch meeting room at no charge. Their support is greatly appreciated. The facilities are well-kept, and the multiple screens across the front of the room ensure everyone can see the presentation, in spite of that tall guy sitting directly in front. Vendor Opportunities Our new venue is too limited in space for vendor displays. Our alternative is offering sponsorships of food and drink in return for which, vendors get to pitch. Here's what we do: Pricing is available on request from any of us. (Actually, we'll send it on to Trish, who does the money.) Due to the limited space at the new venue, we won't have individual tables for vendors to set up a display, but we're sure we'll find a spot for printed materials, and toys are always welcome. We geeks love our toys! Great content Our program sponsors Clark Kidd and Sam Knutson continue to bring in great speakers with timely topics. To help improve the value of NCACMG to you, please let any of the officers know what topics you'd like to see, especially if you have a speaker in mind. What topics are appropriate? According to the CMG home page: "The Computer Measurement Group, commonly called CMG, is a not for profit, worldwide organization of data processing professionals committed to the measurement and management of computer systems. CMG members are primarily concerned with performance evaluation of existing systems to maximize performance (eg. response time, throughput, etc.) and with capacity management where planned enhancements to existing systems or the design of new systems are evaluated to find the necessary resources required to provide adequate performance at a reasonable cost." Sounds pretty wide-open to us. Schedule Our next seminar is scheduled for June 11th. We are still putting the final touches on the program, so watch this space. Remember that pre-registration may not save you any money, but it does guarantee you a seat. It also helps our planning, especially with the food ordering. You really don't want us to run out now, do you? We hope to see all of you there! |
