Cloud - Private Cloud Architect
Cloud computing is a model
for enabling convenient, on-demand network
access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g.,
networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly
provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider
interaction. Cloud computing is not just for distributed systems, z/VM is
a key cloud resource that should not be overlooked.
Daniel Schrantz is a Cloud
Architect working in the IBM SEI Private Cloud
Team where he works with customers to set their vision for cloud. He has
worked for IBM for 17 years in a variety of technical and business positions
and has a broad background in enterprise
systems management.

Bob
Chaney has been in the I/T industry since 1987, when he transitioned from
Finance as part of a Chargeback project that included a new Capacity Planning
function at Westinghouse. He is a
frequent presenter at the National Computer Measurement Group (CMG) conference,
having received a Best Paper award in 1999 and the Mullen Award in 2005. In
1996 Bob joined Delta Air Lines, and is currently the mainframe capacity
planner and architect.

Bio:
Norman R. Owens has been a manager of open systems storage
infrastructure for almost 20 years. He was a long-time board
member for the End User Committee within the Storage Networking Industry
Association (SNIA). Within that capacity he regularly conducted national
surveys intended to focus SNIA efforts upon the real problems faced by end
users managers of storage infrastructure. More recently he has worked for
three and half years as a Solution Architect for Unisys. He currently
crafts data center architectures for a diverse group of commercial, government,
and foreign companies.
Unisys is located
at 3199 Pilot Knob Rd, Eagan, MN. The entrance to
visitor's center is on the northwest side of the building. Attendees
should look for the large white Eagan water tower which on the Unisys property
at the intersection of Towerview Road and Pilot Knob Road. If you are
travelling north on Pilot Knob Road take a left at this intersection. If
you are travelling south take a right. Follow the signs to the visitor's
center. Park in either of the lots within the shadow of the water tower.
