The Board of Directors of the Midwest region of the Computer Measurement Group met on Saturday, August 14, 6:30 PM at the Tre Centa Restaurant within the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg Il
President, Donna Folkerts

Treasurer Sue Rohr
Directors Margaret Greenburg, Greg Scriba, Mike Hines and Rick Ralston.
Mullen fund is short of money, so we will have to come up with funding to pay for Ron Kaminski’s expenses.
Donna will ask Brian for the $1000 plus to pay for Ron’s expenses.
Paypal: Rick is to send instructions to Donna , and also set up an e-mail account with Rob at National.
CMG Board meets 9/10-13 - budget to be done
before meeting.
CMG looking at different ways to enhance conference.
CMG elections: Margaret, Rick and Steve Marksheimer running for at-large Board
of Directors positions.
Janet reviewed her mailing lists and showed us how they are maintained.
There is NO list of current members.
Secretary’s report:
Dan reported on the previous Board meeting in December in Dallas and the last general meeting in July.
(The Secretary missed the Treasurer’s report. The following comes from Mike Hines.)
$7500 in bank.
$1100 loss on last meeting
BMC sent check to CMG HQ, not MCMG - check is somewhere in the mail
@$40/ticket - we made money at Universities
Planetarium - suitable meeting venue
March - ??
Double track?
Planetarium - would be nice to have place aside for group - kids/noise make it
hard to network/visit.
Costing/Pricing
Vendor tables - $200 ea.
Attendance - Board $50 – do not do that any
more
- Member $70 - need more like $75 to $100.
Special circumstances handled on exception basis. Perhaps $50 for independent
or unemployed (networking).
Food Costs - $35/meal at HIMP.
Board Elections:
Call for nominations, Janet will send out a nomination form next week. Nominations are due September 7th for Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and one board member to replace Rick and Marge.
Ballots will be returned to both Donna and Rick before the end of September.
Next General Meeting:
October 13th at HIMP.
Hope for six speakers, single track in the morning, double track in the afternoon.
Jacqui wants to speak.
Peter Enrico maybe. He will want expenses paid.
User Stories? 15 minute user experiences. - Donna, Greg willing to start off series.
Rick will acquire a list of National speakers who might want to practice on us.
For 2005:
Webex meetings? Greg will sponsor one if it is not too costly. He will investigate.
We should have 3 meetings in 2005.
Margaret and Greg will pick dates.
Venues:
October 13 at HIMP
First 2005 program (March 10th) at HIMP
Next two meetings (June 15 and October 12) at UIC, DePaul or Planetarium.
An MCMG Board Meeting at National:
The Secretary will arrange for a BOF to get a room and a scheduled time.
Outreach/Recruitment
Bring a friend promotion - or someone not attending MCMG for 2 years or more.
Drawing - bring a guest - get entered - $ gift certificate.
New people - BMC offer 32MB USB memory stick. BMC sponsored gift.
CMG - may have some 32MB thumb drives available.
Send meeting reminders.
Budget MCMG for next year.
Education - marketing using WIFM (What's in it for me) approach. Sell the
benefits of meetings and programs.
