Board Meeting, Thursday, December 11, 2003

The board of the MCMG met at the Dallas Hyatt during the International Conference on Thursday December 11, 2003.

In attendance were board members:

Donna Folkerts (chair)
Janet Bishop (membership)
Margaret Greenberg (program)
Rick Ralston (web)
Sue Rohr (treasurer)
Greg Scriba (program)
Dan Schwarz (secretary)
Mike Hines (at large)

Also attending: Roger Zimmerman and Bryan Drake.

Meeting was called to order by Donna Folkerts at 6:30.

Secretary’s report:

Our last Board Meeting was 7/12/03 at Greg’s house. We discussed and recommended new bylaws. Also made several policy decisions.

Our last General Membership meeting was 10/15/03. At that meeting the General Membership approved the new bylaws.

The Secretary’s report was accepted.

Treasurer’s report:

We have a bank balance of approximately $7,000.

Treasurer will check for receipts to submit to National for them to pay from the $1,000 that each region gets.

The Treasurer’s report was accepted.

Chair’s report:

Old Business:

Elections report from Janet Bishop. She reported that Tom Bryant has agreed to run for the Board’s web position. Is Roger Zimmerman interested in running for a position? A call for nominations will go out after the first of the year. Secretary’s task is to determine which positions are to become vacant at the next election.

Program report:

A discussion of content took place, Open systems vs. Mainframe topics. A survey will go out after the first of the year to get input from the membership.

Dates for 2004 meetings: March 10, May 12, July 21, October 13.
