Board Meeting, Saturday, July 12, 2003

 The board of the MCMG met at the home of Greg Scriba on Saturday July 12th, 2003.

In attendance were board members:

Donna Folkerts (chair)
Janet Bishop (membership)
Margaret Greenberg (program)
Rick Ralston (web)
Sue Rohr (treasurer)
Greg Scriba (program)
Dan Schwarz (secretary)

The agenda was to review and update our bylaws. The attached document is the updated version as I recorded it. Please bring corrections to me on Wednesday.

In addition, the following items were agreed to:

  1. The Nominating Committee will be chaired by Janet Bishop. She will find two members to produce a slate of candidates for the specific offices that the membership will vote on at our next election.
  2. The Board will consist of eight officers. They are: Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Vice-chair and membership, Secretary, Treasurer, Program (two officers), and one at large officer who maintains the web page.
  3. MCMG's fiscal year will coincide with that of National.
  4. Elections will be held after the first of each year.
  5. At the next election half of the officers will be elected for 2 year terms, half for 1 year terms. This will allow us to stagger the terms to that each future election will elect three or four officers (the Immediate Past Chair is not elected and serves only one term).
  6. Voting membership will consist of people who have attended one MCMG meeting in the 12 months prior to the election.
