Dan Ledgerwood – Royal Bank of Canada
A customer will present their view on Virtual Tape Solutions. This presentation was recently presented at SHARE and also through a Sterling Software Teleconference with Gartner Group. It deals with the pros and cons of Tape Mount Management (TMM), tape stackers, hardware based virtual tape, and software based virtual tape among other things. If your installation is using or plans to use some type of virtual tape solution, you will definitely want to attend this session, since Dan, through implementation and testing, is familiar with the majority of the Virtual Tape Solutions available.
Dan Ledgerwood is currently a Senior Storage Analyst with the Royal Bank of Canada. He has over 19 years of business experience in the Information Processing field. In his 9 years with the Royal Bank, he has held multiple positions in the Technical Support and Recovery Services for both Mainframe and Midrange Systems. His current responsibilities include support of the banks extensive DFSMS environment and other strategic Storage Management projects.

Jane Sedgwick is a Senior Consulting Engineer for Compuware Corporation. She leads and delivers projects for individual application performance management (APM) service engagements. During the past 17 years, she has worked as a Systems Programmer (CICS and MVS), as a Software Engineer for a mainframe manufacturer and as a Performance Specialist.

Stan Dylnicki – Royal Bank of Canada
In this session, you will learn how the Royal Bank is managing the performance and capacity of their NT servers. Topics will include the methodology, tools and issues encountered in deploying large numbers of servers and desktops.
Stan Dylnicki is Manager of PC/LAN Performance & Capacity Planning at the Royal Bank Financial Group. He has over 20 years experience in capacity and performance management on various mainframe and distributed systems. He started the PC/LAN performance group at the bank three years ago and has evolved it to include capacity planning and storage management for all the bank's desktop and servers. He was a Project Manager at Guide for seven years, where he helped IBM evolve products like RMF and SLR. He attends, and sometimes contributes, to CMG both locally and nationally.

This session will encourage discussion and opinion from you on the areas being discussed and hence will only be limited by the overall time.
